The way the Gloster flaunts its individuality isn't subtle at all. There are as many as five badges on the tailgate, including a giant MG logo, a 4WD badge, a 'ADAS' badge signalling advanced driving aids, the one that adorns all MGs, 'Internet Inside,' and the word Gloster printed large over the width of the tailgate.
When you open one of the front doors, you’ll be greeted by a tan leather dashboard with double-stitching, brushed aluminium trim, and a plethora of layers. BMW owners may not appreciate the fact that it bears a strong similarity to some of the brand’s more recent models, but MG buyers will. The 12.3-inch touchscreen docked in the dash is bright and colourful, has a reasonable quality, and makes good use of its wide-screen aspect ratio with neatly placed function ‘tiles,’ but it takes a forceful finger poke to get it to respond.

It isn’t a standard hatchback, despite the fact that it has a hatch in the back. It’s also not a sedan, despite the fact that it appears to be in profile. Then there’s the fastback rear, the long rear overhang, and the 600-litre boot that looks like an estate, but it’s neither a fastback nor an estate. It’s one-of-a-kind.
