Marx was known for writing love songs that pushed him to the #1 spot but “Hazard” departed from this trend since it is a murder ballad. The song was issued as the first single from the record. The man is a super talented multi-instrumentalist and superior vocalist. The mark of Richard Marx is all over pop music over the past forty years. To this day, he is the only male artist in history to have his first seven singles reach the Top 5 on the Billboard charts. With one of the most successful debut albums in history, Richard Marx arrived big time on the music scene in 1987 with three consecutive top 10 singles and a number one record. Richard Marx was also so much more than a hit songwriter.
