The quirky nature of this synth-pop song by Owl City is almost
as childlike as the visuals evoking a sense of wonder and joy
that reminds many of us what it was like to be a child once in
our lives. I would describe it as a happy song along with many
others; ‘Good Time’,’When Can I See You Again’.... Not only does
it beautifully describe fireflies, but I think this song is layered
deeply. "Fireflies" reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in
October 2009 and number 1 in the UK Top 40 on 24 January
2010.

Owl City isn't actually a band, but Owl City is a 2007 American
electro pop music project created by Adam Young in his
hometown of Owatonna, Minnesota. Owl City is one of those
bands that is so, so happy, so upbeat and so fun to listen to.
Their music is referred to as indietronica and synth-pop and is
often assigned to the electronic music genre. Young has stated
that he draws inspiration from European disco and electronic
music, as well as instrumental genres such as drone, ambient,
and post-rock.
